One day Mark's brother-in-law gave it to a friend who owns a hot sauce company, and he told him “If he doesn’t bottle this stuff and start selling it he’s crazy”. So here they are, maybe still crazy but he sure hopes you like it.

Meet Mark, the brains behind Bertoli Claret Sauce.

 

Mark learned to make Claret Sauce many years ago when he was a teen. Later, when he had a family of his own, Mark would make Claret Sauce every Christmas and his family would enjoy it on Spumoni ice cream for dessert. It was always a big hit and everyone in the family would look forward to it.

 

After some years, more and more people would try it, so Mark began making larger batches to share for their holiday celebrations. Soon after that, people starting putting it on all sorts of things.. from French Toast and Waffles, to Fried Chicken and Pork Chops! They even began to mix it into drinks like an Old Fashion.
